Factory Outlets, Shops & Medical Facilities

Indian Wells

Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores and Premium Outlets

When you are staying in the Lake Buena Vista area, expect to find shopping outlets, gift shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants on your doorstep.

Aside from the theme parks, water parks and attractions, we believe Orlando is also the best shopping destination in the world.  With countless designer outlets, shopping malls, supermarkets and a whole host of gift shops to keep 'shopaholics' and bargain hunters thoroughly fulfilled, all you need to do is keep space in your suitcase.

When staying in Indian Wells, you will find the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores opposite on highway SR535, with the popular Premium Outlets just a few minutes further along the road (and also at the top of International Drive).

The main shopping malls are a 20-25 minute drive and 'The Loop' which is the ever-expanding shopping and entertainment complex just 10 minutes along Osceola Parkway.

Looking for cut-price Calvin Klein designer goods, jewellery or the latest Nike gear?  Visit the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores,  which are opposite the SR535 entrance to Indian Wells.  With straightforward parking and no crowds, here you will find many favourites, which include: Nike, Calvin Klein, Loft, Guess, Aeropostale, DKNY, Tommy Hilfiger, Gap, Levi's Outlet, Van Heusen, Reebok, VF Outlet, Izod, Old Navy, Fossil, Wilson's Leather, Timberland, Rack Room Shoes and even a local Internet Cafe and food court.

For more choice from a bigger selection of designer goods stores, the ultra popular Orlando Premium Outlets can be found around 8 minutes north on highway SR535 (towards Interstate 4) and also at the north end of International Drive.  Both offer a fantastic choice of designer goods at unbelievable prices, although these do tend to be busier - especially during the weekend.

Walmart, Publix and Local Shops

Bordering Indian Wells on highway SR535 is the 24/7 Walmart, with numerous local shops, eateries and a medical center alongside.  Here you will find a liquor store, Indian buffet, Chinese take-away, Hookah bars, pizza delivery, Subway, a bakery and deli, gift shops, a mobile phone shop, a laptop and electronics boutique, a computer game shop. a barber, nail bar & spa, an Internet cafe and the nearest walk-in medical center.  Another Internet cafe is located in the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores (next to the 'VF Outlet') and a post office is alongside the Chevron service station on SR535 (next to Walmart).   Next to the post office is the 'Official Ticket Centre', which is a legitimate vendor for theme park and attraction tickets.  On the other side of SR535 are the new shops, which include the local Publix supermarket, TJ Maxx, Ross (Dress for Less), shoe shops and eateries such as, Five Guys, Wendy's, Chipotle and Twisty Treat .

When approaching Indian Wells from highway SR535, you will notice the Speedway and Race Trac service stations.  These sell hot food, pizzas, Dunkin Donuts, liquor, general groceries and also have an ATM machine inside.  ATM machines can also be found at the Walmart and Publix supermarkets, along with many of the shopping malls, outlets and banks. Our recommendation is to use the ATM at Publix, as these have a smaller withdrawal fee of around US$2.75 per transaction.

Specialist Food Stores

Supermarkets cater for the British market with their ever increasing range of produce, but for special dietary requirements refer to the Kissimmee stores listed below.  We would always recommend checking with the supplier beforehand for specific requirements.

ATMs and Cash Machines

If you prefer not to carry travellers cheques (and a form of identification), there are many ATM cash machines located at supermarkets, service stations, shopping malls, banks and theme parks.  Prior to your visit, always confirm with your bank that your card is compatible with the US MasterCard, Maestro or Cirrus networks.  The majority of ATMs charge a fee of $2-$3 for withdrawing cash, along with any fee associated with your card.  However you will often find a better exchange rate when compared to the airport Bureau de Change.

The nearest ATMs and cash machines to the villas are located in Walmart, the Speedway service station and the Publix supermarket.  When using the ATMs, use your normal PIN.  When presented with 'Which Account?' to withdraw funds from - the 'Checking Account' is your current account.  It may also be worthwhile confirming with your bank what the daily withdrawal limit is (US$400 per day tends to be the norm).

Pharmacies, Medical Centers, Dentists & Celebration Hospital

We hope that you will never need to visit any kind of medical center during your stay, however, for peace of mind, there are dispensing pharmacies, walk-in medical centers, a dentist and even a hospital located not too far away.

You will find a walk-in medical center in the local shops which border Indian Wells, as well as a dispending pharmacy within Walmart.  There is also a CVS Pharmacy located at the junction of US192/Polynesian Isle Boulevard and also at the corner of SR535/SR536 (the big junction just past LBV Factory Stores).  This is also where you will find the no-appointment-necessary Buena Vista Walk-In Medical Center, which is open 7 days a week, 8am-7pm (Mon-Fri) and 8am-3pm (weekends and holidays) - with an emergency 24 hour telephone number 407-465-1110.  The nearest dentist is at the junction of SR535/US192 - near to Smokey Bones and the Publix supermarket.  For anything else, the nearest hospital is located in the town of Celebration and is around a 15 minute drive.

It is essential that you have travel insurance with adequate medical cover when visiting the US, as the country is mainly private healthcare.  Medical care with a hospital stay will be very expensive and the European form E111 does not apply in the US.
